Sydney Airport

atg airports provided 50 taxiway stop bars at runway intersections across all three runways at Sydney Airport to reduce the risk of runway incursions. In addition, atg provided Sydney with an upgrade to the current SmartControl System.

The scope of this landmark project included a major upgrade to the existing atg SmartControl System to enable the control and monitoring of the new stop bars as well as the installation of a new microwave barrier detection system at 26 locations across all three runways.

To complete this project, atg airports were engaged to undertake the installation, testing and commissioning of the new taxiway lead on/off and stop bar lights, primary and secondary cabling, installation of CCRs (constant current regulators) and over 1000 Smart Switch Individual Lamp Control and Monitoring units. All works for the project had to be carried out at night time to eliminate any operational disruption and atg airports programmed the work successfully to ensure that it was completed on time and to budget.
