atg airports, a leading UK specialist in airfield ground lighting (AGL) solutions, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a contract to supply Blackpool Airport with new Constant Current Regulators (CCRs) and a fully integrated airfield lighting control and monitoring system.

This contract reinforces atg airports’ position as a trusted provider of airfield lighting technology across the UK aviation sector. The project will support the airport’s AGL infrastructure modernisation program.

As part of the upgrade, atg airports will supply a range of industry-proven Micro100+ CCRs, known for their robust performance and compliance with international standards.

In addition to the CCRs, Blackpool Airport will benefit from atg’s latest SmartControl system – a scalable, modular solution for controlling and monitoring airfield lighting assets. This new system offers improved situational awareness for airside operations and enables more efficient maintenance through real-time monitoring, diagnostics, and remote-control features.

Chris McGuinness, Operations Director (Engineering) of atg airports, commented:
“We are delighted to be working with Blackpool Airport on this important upgrade project. Our solutions are designed to support safe and sustainable airport operations, and we look forward to delivering technology that meets their current and future needs.”

The upgrade project is set to be completed later this year, with minimal disruption to ongoing airfield activities. This installation follows similar successful deployments across other regional UK airports and continues atg airports’ mission to deliver reliable and innovative airfield solutions.
