CCRs to BAA Airports
BAA’s Commitment to Innovation and Partnership with ATG Airports
The position of BAA at the forefront of the British aviation industry is unquestionable, and in order to maintain this standing, only the most innovative technologies are considered for their sites.
To continue setting industry standards for safety, reliability, and operational efficiency, BAA consistently evaluates cutting-edge solutions that enhance both airfield performance and maintenance capabilities.
The widespread presence of atg airports’ products across all BAA airports is testament to the quality of the entire product portfolio; with the Micro 100 Constant Current Regulator (CCR) comprising a significant part of each and every BAA site. This long-term partnership highlights BAA’s confidence in ATG Airports’ engineering expertise and in the proven performance of their airfield lighting control technologies.
Micro 100 CCR: Proven Technology Across the BAA Network
Heathrow Airport was the first to install the Micro 100 CCR on site, paving the way for wider adoption across the BAA group. Following Heathrow’s successful implementation, Aberdeen and Stansted airports also integrated the technology in subsequent years.
Since then, all BAA sites have taken delivery of Micro 100 CCRs, ensuring a consistent standard of control and performance across their entire airport network.
The Micro 100 CCR has earned praise for its intelligent design and operational efficiency. All of the airports have been impressed with many of the features of the cabinet, including its minimal footprint, robust cooling system, and the strategic position of the cooling vents, which allow the cabinets to be installed side by side.
This configuration optimizes valuable substation space and improves airflow management, key considerations for modern airfield lighting systems where compact design and reliability are critical.
A Reliable Foundation for Future Expansion
The adoption of ATG Airports’ Micro 100 CCR technology across multiple BAA airports demonstrates a shared commitment to long-term operational resilience and sustainability. The efficient design not only reduces spatial constraints but also simplifies maintenance and allows for easy integration with existing Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) infrastructure.
As BAA continues to expand and modernise its facilities, the Micro 100 CCR remains a trusted component at the heart of its airfield electrical systems, supporting safe, efficient, and future-ready airfield operations across the UK.
