Module 6 - Military AGL Course
Product Details
This course is a military equivalent to Module 1 and starts by
explaining the basic principals of aviation ground lighting, how
it has evolved from its original concepts and how it has reacted
to the changing needs of aircraft. The course goes on to explain
the layout of the lights on a modern airfi eld as well as their colourand function. It looks in some detail at the maintenance of thelights and provides an opportunity for delegates to try their hand at setting them. It also looks at the circuits and the equipment as appropriate for military airfi elds. Again, delegates are provided with an opportunity to set up the equipment themselves. Above all safety is of prime importance. The course explains the application of the ‘Health and Safety at Work Act’ and the ‘Electricity at Work Act’ as applied to aviation ground lighting as well as other safety related issues. It also discusses safety in relationship to working airside. The course is based, generally, on information provided in MOD publication JSP554. However additional material is also taken from ICAO Annexe 14 and any relevant supplements.
